Grumble! To the cold nights…

Sniffle! My nose runs at the rate of a high speed train.
Creak! My back aches when I move… ooh the pain.

Groan! As I stretch to get up to even walk…
Splutter! As I cough when I really want to talk.

Choke! As I swallow my ‘flu pill’ the wrong way
”Gah!”! Is the only word the after-taste lets me say.

Sigh! As I meander to settle in my bed…
Clunk! As I lie back, and abruptly hit my head.

Yawn! As I lie there and hope to go to sleep
Aah! As I feel myself relax, nice and deep.

Ouch! As I try to turn and lie on my side
Choo! As I take yet another sneeze in my stride.

Mmmm! As I’m so relaxed I finally drift off…
Bzzz! As the alarm wakes me with a start
…And a cough.

I’m feeling a bit like a zombie at the moment – externally, that is! Internally I’m still feeling good. This is very confusing for my Inner Zombie as he doesn’t know whether he’s coming or going. Here’s to a good night’s sleep… without the annoying alarm at the end of it!

  1. My inner zombie has had a month long breakdown :) Now it doesn’t know what to do with itself since I can breathe easy and start living again! Unlike, it would seem half of w/press inc yourself who are all down with the dreaded lurgy! I hope you recover very soon and feel much better. It really is a horrible condition…in your case usually contracted from your hair gel and too much adventuring in your Manor :) I mean in your bathroom… :D Get well soon Aquatom! I’m counting on your hair gel to rescue you!

  2. Sending good wishes and positive energy your way to hope you feel better soon. My grandmother would recommend camomille tea with honey and dry toast and then chicken soup. She was always right. Also soft-cooked eggs. Get well soon, Tom!

  3. I liked this post, but I do hope you know it’s not because you aren’t feeling well!! It’s just that I haven’t read of someone feeling unwell put so….nicely…like a rhyme..you know?
Take care Tom!! That flu doesn’t sound nice at all..quite painful especially when you “Clunked” into bed!
Lots of water, vitamin C (quite dubious when you’ve already got it, though) and chicken soup!!

  4. Hang tight T….All will be well soon I hope. Perhaps you could hit the laboratory and create something to install in the mansion that would kill all pathogens coming into the house and inside you if you pick one up on the outside….VK

    • I seem to be getting a 24 hour bug once a week lately, Tess… always slightly different. Perhaps you had three weeks worth of different bugs and thought they were the same? Glad to hear that you’re feeling better now!
